Venus has been approaching Jupiter all summer long but is now slowing down and dropping below the ecliptic as she heads toward inferior conjunction on November 2, 1994.  In this view, we see the brightest planet already south of the ecliptic nearing Spica, while Jupiter has just crossed from Virgo into Libra.  Venus is magnitude -4.31 and Jupiter is -1.96, with a 23°47'29" separation.  Unannotated image
