Jupiter has been moving eastward in Taurus for several months and now clearly shows separation from Aldebaran and the Hyades.  Its magnitude is -2.08 on this evening.  Compare its position now with previous dates:  March 26, 2025, February 17, 2025, January 22, 2025.  Compare the position of Jupiter to the two large open clusters along the ecliptic, NGC 1647 and NGC 1746 (OK, 1746 is not really a cluster, but rather an amalgamation of two other open clusters plus a generally higher concentration of stars in that direction).  Unannotated image
