Mars is closing in on its alignment date with Castor and Pollux, which
according to my planetarium software, should occur not on June 4 as I
previously thought, but on June 7 or 8, depending on which line you
perceive as being straighter! I would find an alignment in which
Mars was somewhat below a straight line from Castor to Pollux to be
slightly preferable to the other way around. The other pleasing
arrangement must have occurred several days ago, when Mars' distance
from Pollux equalled the distance between Pollux and Castor. The
Beehive Cluster can be seen just on the upper left edge.
