I went to a remote spot on the Pamlico Sound in North Carolina because the dark sky map indicated black sky over that area.  My main purpose was to
work on my Herschel 400ii project, but I also did some astro-imaging, which included an unforeseen bonus of the zodiacal light.  Venus and Neptune
are bathed in the glow of not just the zodiacal light but also some reddish sky glow bands and a distinct yellow tinge to the sky.
