========================== Here we see Venus passing well north of Regulus during one of its January to October apparitions and as a bonus, Mercury can be seen just above the northwestern horizon, still in the constellation Cancer. On this evening, Venus is magnitude -4.09 and Mercury checks in at magnitude +0.36. For the remainder of its evening apparition, Venus will trend further south along the ecliptic until it crosses over at its descending node and ends up passing well south of the Sun at inferior conjunction. Compare this view with its position relative to the ecliptic in September.
