Jupiter and Mars had a very close conjunction in Libra in early January 2018, which we see here in this wide angle view that shows the morning scene from Scorpius to the eastern edge of Virgo.  We just missed catching Mercury here; it is to the lower left of Antares down in the trees along the horizon. On this date, Jupiter is magnitude -1.88 and Mars is magnitude +1.43 and they are 0°17'12" apart.  Unannotated image, planets annotated
