This image was taken with my Nikon D40, which has an APS-C sensor, paired with a legacy 55 mm lens; this results in a zoom level equivalent to that of a full frame sensor camera using an 82mm lens. The image was sharpened, brightened and contrast adjusted during post processing.  My apologies for the starburst filter LOL!

Venus has been low in the evening sky since August, and only in the last two months even been easily visible, but now she is starting to gain in altitude and will soar to a great height above the sunset horizon in January and February 2017.  On this evening, Venus is magnitude -4.10 and 15.73" in diameter.  The scene shown here is Venus to the right of the handle of the Teapot asterism, with the lower part of the "Teaspoon" above.  Unannotated image.
