![]() Four planets gathered in the predawn skies of October 2015; the tightest grouping comprised Venus, Jupiter, and Mars, while farther below was Mercury. This view on October 22 catches the three spaced out most evenly during their complicated dance, in the area of southeastern Leo. On this morning, Venus is magnitude -4.41, Jupiter is -1.82, and Mars is +1.74. The separation between Venus and Mars is 4°58'30" on this date; Venus will pass Jupiter on October 25, but unfortunately I did not get a picture of the conjunction. Unannotated image |
